First- that dad is a little too laid back. He needs to learn to remove his daughter when she is acting like that!

Oh, I meant to also say that I am wicked impressed (sorry, grew up in the Boston area) that you can get your weekly grocery shopping done in half an hour. That is heroic and awesome!

What a nightmare! Glad it worked out OK. I have a sucky "locked out" story, too. The first week we moved into our house, we didn't realize our deck door locked from the inside. We settled ourselves out by the table with take out dinner and a nice bottle of wine after putting our then 7-month-old to bed. We quickly realized we were locked out, and our baby was locked in. We had no keys at all for the door (previous owner didn't leave them), and no stairs from our deck to the backyard. After hubby did some gymnastics to get down and lots of helpful but unsuccessful attempts to break in by our new neighbors, we finally had a locksmith come out, leap over onto our deck from the neighbors', and jimmy the lock. Worried about the baby and unwilling to climb down from the deck, I watched all the proceedings and finished off most of that bottle of wine. NOT a relaxing night!

After that, we changed the locks and put a spare key out on the deck. Always a good idea to have a "just in case" back up plan!

Ohhhhhhhhhhh. That suuuuuuucks. But scrambled eggs for dinner is a win!
