Love it Becca! As a mom AND a speech/language pathologist. Taylor can say the word 'dance' correctly when it's just that word, but any time she's talking about her dance class, it comes out 'gwance cwass'. In the biz we chalk it up to "phonemic environment. As a mom I just think it's plain cute! ;-)
I was thinking phonemic environment too. It's Weff makes perfect phonemic sense - beginning and end are formed with the lips. "Yes" is all inside the mouth and doesn't involve the lips. (from a former linguist...)
I don't know what the "it's" is doing in the previous sentence. I must have started one sentence and it ended being a different one. I do not think of Wes as "it"!
love it! Ethan calls himself "Eeffan", but can pronounce the "th" in other words. Go figure. I just think he realizes how adorable he sounds when he mispronounces his own name.

Wef! Oh how cute is that?!
My little brother used to say "nake" for snake. H would say "Ssssssss. I'm a nake." It used to crack us all up.

I like it! We have friends with a Wesley, and he got nicknamed "sesey" by his brother because he had a hard time pronouncing Wesley.
love it!
