Ha! Me too. When I get done writing for the day, I like to leave myself a note about where to start the next day, so I don't have to waste a bunch of time following an old train of thought. But my notes invariably turn into insults!! I am happy to see you do this too.
wow, lookit all them numbers. i don't know what any of that means... but i also leave myself sticky notes. when i'm in the midst of a big project, i never know when my client's going to call and say the hours are up, please return the project...because? they ALWAYS underestimate. so i have notes throughout about what pass i'm on or what needs data verified, etc... some of my notes are snarky, i often wonder if i've remembered to remove them.
I always write in big patches, and leave placeholder notes like "Crap about the body here" or "blah blah feminist stuff here". That is why I never let people read a work in progress!
